/NEXUS Model 16B Braille Compass

This unique invention was designed in cooperation with

organizations for the blind in the USA, Sweden and

Canada to help the visually impaired find directions.

The card graduations are raised for touch orientation with

North represented by an arrow; East, South & West, by

Braille letters and Intercardinal points by dots.

Using the 16B Braille Compass

1. With the cover closed, and the cord next to your body, hold the compass level, for

approximately 10 seconds.  This allows the compass card to settle on North.

2. Open the cover slowly.  This locks the compass card in place so you can feel the

graduations.

3. With a finger, find the graduation on the compass card that is closest to the raised

index line on the dial, located near the cover hinge.  This is the direction that you

are facing.

Free instructions in Braille are available upon request.
