6.9.3 Anesthetic gas extraction
If anesthetic gases are used, attention must be paid to the local regulations on maximum work
place concentrations of anesthetic gases (occupational standards) and these regulations must
be adhered to.
Installation of a separate gas extraction system for anesthetic gases is principally recommend-
ed. The MR system provides a connection point to which it can be connected. Gases are ex-
tracted in the vicinity of the test object and discharged to the gas extraction system via a tube 3
m long with an inner diameter of 25 mm. The connection point to the gas extraction system of
the building is located above the CCM at the service end of the magnet. Using system-supplied
suction pipes a suction capacity of about 15 m
3
/ h of extraction will be required.
