PRE-RIDE INSPECTION
We encourage you to have an Annual Safety Inspection of your vehicle. Please
contact an authorized BRP dealer for further details. Though not required, it is
recommended that an authorized BRP dealer performs the preseason preparation
of your watercraft. Each visit to your authorized BRP dealer is a great opportunity
for your dealer to verify if your watercraft is included in any safety campaign. We
also urge you to visit your authorized BRP dealer in a timely manner if you become
aware of any safety related campaigns.
WARNING
Perform a pre-ride inspection before each ride to detect potential problems
during operation.. Correct any problems that you discover to reduce the
risk of a breakdown or crash. See an authorized Sea-Doo dealer as neces-
sary.
Before performing the pre-ride inspection, read and understand the CONTROLS
subsection.
What to Do Before Launching the Watercraft
WARNING
Engine should be off and the tether cord cap should always be removed
from the engine cut-off switch prior to verifying the following points except
for the engine start/stop button. Only start watercraft once all items have
been checked and operate properly.
Check the items listed in the following table before launching the watercraft.
NOTE: After riding the watercraft, refer to WATERCRAFT CARE subsection to en-
sure the watercraft will be ready and in proper condition for the next outing.
ITEM OPERATION ✓
Drain plugs Tighten.
Steering system Check operation.
Throttle lever Check operation.
iBR lever Check operation.
Front storage compartment cover,
glove box and seat
Ensure they are closed and latched.
Inflatable sponsons including running
boards Inspect and adjust pressure of inflatable
sponsons.
Navigation lights (if equipped)
Check operation. Depress start/stop
button without tether cord installed on
engine cut-off switch. Navigation lights
should turn on.
Engine cut-off switch and engine
START/STOP button Check operation. Do not run engine more
than 30 seconds out of the water.
