BREAK-IN PERIOD
Operation During Break-In
Engine
During the break-in period:
– Avoid prolonged full throttle operation.
– Avoid sustained accelerations.
– Avoid prolonged cruising speeds.
– Avoid engine overheating.
However, brief accelerations and speed variations contribute to a
good break-in.
During a predetermined period, the engine management system
controls some engine parameters.
The duration is based on fuel volume. It will take approximately two
fuel tanks to complete the break-in.
During this period:
– The engine performance and behavior will not be optimal.
– The fuel and oil consumption will be higher.
Also, during the first hours of operation, monitor the level in the wa-
ter pump shaft oil reservoir. It is normal that it lowers a little. How-
ever, it should stabilize after a moment, and then remain stable over
time.
