4.3.5 Alertcom
The Alertcom is an Occupant Management System enabling the tailoring of unique tones / messages
for occupants. Each tone / message was designed to elicit a specific response. The Alertcom utilises
FT420 OWS in conjunction with Brooks range of audio amplifiers. These tones can be applied to a
wide variety of situations, from emergency warning and evacuation to simple meal break indications.
The FT420 Alertcom system consists of the following:
•
Standard FT420 system complete with OWS and suitable amplifiers.
•
8 Zone Expansion Board (SUB883) for supervised clean contact input for automatic
triggering

.
•
8 Manual Select Display Board (SUB889) if manual control is required
The Alertcom enables Emergency Control Organisation flexibility when implementing procedures for
buildings or work places by providing a range of tones / messages for different responses required by
the emergency plan.
The Alertcom system provides up to 8 separate tones initiated either automatically or via manual
control in addition to the standard alert and evacuation tones.
