TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO 

PERSONS, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:

1.  Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you 

have questions, contact the manufacturer.

2.  Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power off at service panel and 

lock the service disconnecting means to prevent power from being 

switched on accidentally. When the service disconnecting means cannot 

be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning device, such as a tag, to 

the service panel.

3.  Installation work and electrical wiring (including switch location) must 

be done by a qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes 

and standards.

4.  Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases 

through the flue(chimney) of fuel burning equipment to prevent back 

drafting. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer’s guideline and 

safety standards such as those published by the National Fire Protection 

Association (NFPA), and the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration 

and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.

5.  This product may have sharp edges. Be careful to avoid cuts and 

abrasions during installation and cleaning. Always wear safety glasses 

and gloves during installation and maintenance.

6.  When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical 

wiring and other hidden utilities.

7.  Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.

8.  Not for use in kitchens.
9.  If this unit is to be installed over a tub or shower, it must be marked as 

appropriate for the application and be connected to a GFCI (Ground Fault 

Circuit Interrupter) – protected branch circuit.

10.  This unit must be grounded.

CAUTION

  

1.  For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or 

explosive materials and vapors.

2.  Install fan at least five feet (1.52 m) above floor.
3.  To avoid motor bearing damage and noisy, unbalanced impellers, keep 

drywall spray, construction dust, etc. off motor and impeller.

4.  Read specifications on product for other information and requirements.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

OPERATION

•  For quiet and efficient operation, long life, and attractive appearance – 

lower or remove grille and vacuum interior of fan with a dusting brush 

attachment.

•  The motor is permanently lubricated and never needs oiling. If the motor 

bearings make excessive or unusual noise, stop using it and replace 

the motor with the exact service motor. The impeller should also be 

replaced.

Use an on/off switch or speed control to operate this ventilator.

  Remove fan cover following the appropriate instructions for 

your fan model.

  Pull fan cover and squeeze 

both springs, then pull down 

to remove fan cover.

a.

  Remove the lens from the 

fan cover.

3.

  Unplug motor.

Disconnect the electrical power supply and lock out the 

service panel for the existing fan.

Grille appearance may vary.

4.

  Insert flat blade screwdriver 

into slot in housing and twist 

screwdriver to release blower.

5.

  Pivot blower out of housing.

6.

  Vacuum the interior of the existing fan housing. Examine 

the housing and receptacle. If any damage is found, do not 

continue installation of this product. Contact a qualified 

person(s) for repair.

7.

  Insert double tabs of blower into 

double slots of housing.

8.

  Pivot blower up into housing until 

single tab of blower snaps into 

single slot of housing.

9.

  Plug in motor.

INSTALL NEW PARTS

10.

 Reinstall the fan cover following the appropriate instructions 

for your fan model.

a. 

Place reflector/cover over the 

protruding screw and fasten 

in place using acorn nut 

provided. Reinstall the lens.

b.

  Squeeze both springs and 

insert them into the two 

slots in the blower.

Push fan cover up to ceiling.

11.

 Reconnect electrical power supply.
