10. Install conne cting rod and piston with
lubrication hole in rod toward magneto
side. This will expose rod assem bly
marks.
11. Assemble the connecting rod cap, screw
locks and screws.
12. Torque screws and bend up locks.
13. Install ta ppets and camshaft.
14. Align timing marks on camshaft and
timing gear. Install sump cover.
GEAR REDUCTIONS
The gear reduction att achment reduces PTO
shaft RPM by 6:1. That is, the crankshaft turns 6
times to 1 turn of the PTO shaft.

1. Remove the drain plug (

). Drain the oil
from the gear housing into an appropriate
container.
2. Clean PTO shaft with crocus cloth and
wipe with a solvent such as kerosene to
remove residue. It is important that PTO
shaft journal be thoroughly cleaned.
3. Remove four cover screws (

wear and damage. Replace if necessary.
