6.4 Maintenance work
6.4.1 Replacing plastic tines
Necessity
Replace broken off, missing or worn plastic tines.
Special tool
To replace the plastic tines, the following special tool is required:
– Clamping pliers
– Cordless screwdriver with special tool for screwing in tines
Prerequisite
Before replacing plastic tines, make sure that:
– the engine is switched off and has cooled down to the
ambient temperature.
Replacing plastic tines
Replace plastic tines as follows:
a) Raise the attachment to access the pick-up roller.

b) Use clamping pliers to unscrew the plastic tines (1) counter-
clockwise.
c) Ensure that the pick-up roller and the new plastic tines are
no warmer than 25°C. If required, allow the plastic tines to
cool in a refrigerator.
d) Use clamping pliers to screw in the new plastic tines
clockwise as far as they will go.
e) Start up the attachment.
As an alternative to the clamping pliers, the plastic tines can be
screwed in using a cordless screwdriver with a special tool for
screwing in the tines:
a) Clamp special tool in cordless screwdriver.
b) Insert tine.
c) Insert at hole/thread and screw in clockwise.
d) When the tine is screwed in as far as it will go, change the
direction of rotation and turn the special tool off the tine.
