Connecting the Gooseneck to the Deck
Note:
The gooseneck must be attached to the tractor or jeep’s fifth wheel.
1.
Engage anti-dive pin. See Fig 3-22.
2.
Line up the gooseneck with the trailer
and back up to within a few feet.
3.
Once close, begin dumping the
suspension air from the tractor and jeep.
4.
Continue to back the neck up until anti-
dive pin is engaged.
5.
Check cross member holes for anti-dive
pin engagement. See Fig 3-24
6.
Inspect to ensure drive lugs will engage.
See Fig 3-23
7.
Decouple the fifth wheel and pull the
tractor forward.
8.
Rotate the links to desired setting and
install link retainers.
9.
Back tractor under the gooseneck and
recouple the fifth wheel.
10.
Connect air and electrical lines between
tractor or jeep and the trailer.
Note:
If the gooseneck drive lugs do not properly engage the deck slots, disengage anti-dive pin,
drive forward and repeat steps 1-6.
