Installation
5.3.1
Installation Notes
●
When installing the Embedded Terminal, ensure an ergonomic operation.
Additionally, ensure that all machine components can be seen by the op‐
erator!
●
Avoid installation locations exposed to direct UV light or sunlight, because
the screen readability is reduced and additional heat development can
occur.
●
Mount the Embedded Terminal in a manner ensuring easy access to the
connector panel (top side).
●
Provide a minimum distance of 50 mm (on all sides of the device) for suf‐
ficient cooling and cable routing.
●
The LED displays on the connector panel or PC box have to be visible.
●
Lay all connecting cables in loops and use strain reliefs for all cables.
●
Keep as much distance as possible to noise sources.
5.3.2
Mounting Cut-Out
Mount the Embedded Terminal as follows:
Loss of degree of protection IP 65!
DANGER
Ensure that the mounting surface of the Embedded Terminal is:
●
free of impurities and
●
has to be provided with sufficient mechanical strength and flatness
These criteria influence the required degree of protection IP to a great extent.
Further required measures are to be taken depending on the mounting location,
e. g. the stabilization of the mounting frame.
1. Create a mounting cut-out with the corresponding number of holes, diam‐
eter 5 mm, according to the illustrations "Mounting dimensions" on the
following pages.
The position of the mounting bolts is specified in the dimension drawing
of the previous chapters.
2. Remove the paper strip from the seal on the rear side of the front panel.
3. Insert the Embedded Terminal from the front into the cut-out. The M4
mounting bolts have to be inserted into the drilled holes.
4. Fasten the Embedded Terminal by screwing the nuts at the rear side of
the mounting bolts.
