5.2 Product description DI3
With the BODAS display series DI3, Bosch Rexroth offers freely configurable and
high-resolution VGA color displays with a powerful integrated 32-bit graphics
processor for use in mobile working machines. The BODAS displays DI3 can be used
for displaying alphanumeric elements, process variables and operating conditions,
as well as static and dynamic graphic elements, such as pointer instruments and
menus, for example.
The robust displays have been specifically developed for use in mobile working
machines and meet the relevant safety requirements with regard to ambient
temperatures, impermeability, resistance to shock and vibration, as well as
electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The displays are intended for installation
or mounting in the cab and provide excellent readability, even in sunlight or adverse
climatic conditions thanks to the low-reflection real glass panel with anti-fog
coating and the sun shield integrated into the case frame.
The BODAS displays DI3 are intended for direct connection to a 12 V or 24 V
on-board voltage network. The internal real-time clock with calendar function is
retentive in case of supply voltage interruption. The contrast of the display and
the brightness of the double backlighting can be adjusted. Communication with
the BODAS controllers of the current series and other electronic assembly groups
in the machine takes place via CAN bus. All electrical connections are combined
in one connector.
The display version with video interface also allows for the direct connection
of one or two video sources in accordance with the PAL or NTSC standard
(e.g. BODAS color video cameras by Bosch Rexroth) for workspace or monitoring
at reverse drive direction. The voltage supply for the camera is supplied directly
through the display (can be configured to 7 V, 9 V or 12 V using the DCT tool).
The video signals transmitted from the cameras can be shown on the display
as superimposed images (picture in-picture) or as full-screen, depending on the user
interface configuration.
For the operator input and menu navigation, six freely programmable function
buttons, developed according to ergonomic considerations, are integrated into the
housing of the BODAS display DI3. The displays also have an ergonomically designed
central rotary control (jog dial) for navigating quickly on and between the different
screen pages and menus or for changing the settings.
The application-specific display of screen pages, context menus, graphic elements,
and video signals, etc., is freely defined by the user using the Windows-based
PC configuration tool BODAS DCT 1.0 / 2.0 (Display Configuration Tool) and is
transmitted by downloading onto the integrated flash memory of the BODAS display
DI3. The BODAS display DI3 has an additional function in that it can be used as
a diagnosis and service interface for a BODAS system configuration.
For this, the parameter settings that are stored in the BODAS controllers RC
can also be read out, changed and written back via the DI3 CAN interface.
Providing the BODAS controllers RC used are equipped with a CAN diagnostics
interface, no additional tool is required for the diagnosis/parameterization of the
application when a DI3 is used.
