7.3 Before the installation
WARNING
Risk of explosion due to operation of the manifold block in potentially explosive
atmospheres, for which the manifold block is not suitable!
A manifold block which is not approved for the relevant area of application could
cause an explosion!
▶
Check whether the explosion protection mark on the nameplate of the manifold
block complies with the information in these operating instructions.
▶
Check the explosion protection mark on the nameplate of the manifold block
and the operating conditions described in these operating instructions to
see whether the manifold block is suitable for use in the relevant potentially
explosive atmosphere according to Directive 1999/92/EC.
Explosion hazard caused by spark formation!
Vibration and friction at the lifting accessories may cause spark forming and thus
lead to an explosion hazard.
▶
Remove all lifting accessories after handling.
1.
Before mounting the manifold block, check compliance of the type designation/
material number on the nameplate with your order/order confirmation.
If the material number of the manifold block does not correspond to the one on
the order confirmation, contact Rexroth Service for clarification; for address, see
chapter 16.1“List of addresses“.
2.
Check the scope of delivery for completeness and damage in transit.
3.
When mounting the manifold block to other hydraulic components (e.g. cylinder)
make sure that all the required seals are available and properly inserted.
4.
Plastic caps and transport protection elements (e.g. cover plates, protective
plugs) have to be removed before operation in a potentially explosive
atmosphere. At customer connections, protective plugs made of plastic have to
be replaced by pressure-proof fittings.
7.4 Installation conditions
▶
When mounting the manifold block, strictly adhere to the ambient conditions
specified in the operating instructions and/or on the installation drawing.
▶
Strictly observe utmost cleanliness. Hydraulic components must be protected
from dirt during installation. Contamination of the hydraulic fluid may
considerably reduce the service life of hydraulic components.
▶
Observe the installation position given on the installation drawing.
7.5 Required tools
When working in the potentially explosive area, only use tools that are suitable for
the relevant area.
