Installation requirements
7.9.1
Before you begin
Damage to components may occur if power
is applied during installation or removal.
WARNING
●
Make sure power supplies are switched off before installation or removal
of the NY4114 module.
●
Do not apply power until the MCU module is installed.
Damage to components may occur due to
electrostatic discharges.
WARNING
●
Comply with all ESD protective measures while working with modules
and components. Avoid electrostatic discharges.
7.9.2
Cable connections
The NY4114 module uses ethernet connection cables to connect to another
node and the host. See
chapter 14 "Network" on page 205
information about the network connection. The connections to the ethernet
network are located on the front of the NY4114 module. Some form of
network cable strain relief is advised. You can use the NY4901/10 cable
strain relief bracket or the NY4901/30 cable strain relief bracket which is
specifically developed for the NY4114. See the NYCe 4000 Standard
Housings and Accessories manual for detailed information.
Make sure that your machine design has sufficient free clearance
space in front of the NY4114 module for the cable strain relief
bracket and the minimum allowed bending of the Ethernet
cable(s). The width of the NY4901/10 cable strain relief bracket is
60 mm, and the width of the NY4901/30 cable strain relief bracket
is 65 mm. Consult the specifications of the cable manufacturer for
the minimum allowed bending radius. See for more information
the NYCe 4000 Standard Housings & Accessories manual.
7.9.3
Environmental conditions
The NY4114 module can be used in ambient temperatures up to 30 °C using
convection cooling.
Free clearance is required below and above the system housing
in which the NY4114 is installed to guarantee sufficient free air
flow. See the NYCe 4000 Standard Housings and Accessories
manual for detailed information.
