The machine is intended for cutting sheet metals
without loss due to metal chips. It is suited for
curved and straight cutting.
Check for correct mains voltage: The voltage
of the power source must agree with the voltage
specified on the nameplate of the machine.
Equipment marked with 230 V can also be con-
nected to 220 V.
Switching On and Off
Switching on:
Push the On/Off switch 1
backwards.
Switching off: Push the On/Off switch 1
forwards.
■
Apply the machine to the workpiece only
when switched on.
Guide the machine raised at the front at an angle
of 10° to 15° from the surface of the sheet metal.
Do not tilt the machine to the side.
Do not load the machine so heavily that it comes
to a standstill.
Cutting curves: Do not tilt the machine and work
only with a low feed rate.
Before starting to cut, lightly oil the cutting line on
the sheet metal.
Sharp cutters result in good cutting performance
and protect the machine.
☞
Never cut with blunt cutters.
Both sides of the upper cutter 5 supplied with the
machine can be used.
Replace or sharpen the cutters as required.
A high feed rate significantly decreases the per-
formance capability of the machine and reduces
the service life of the cutters.
■
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Lower Cutter
Loosen the nut 8. Remove the set screw 9. Insert
the lower blade 7 into the relief of the blade
holder 3 and tighten it with the screw 10.
Upper Cutter
Insert the upper cutter into the plunger and
tighten with the screw 6.
Adjusting the Cutters
Cutter Clearance a
The cutter clearance a (air gap be-
tween the cutters) depends on the
thickness of the material to be cut.
Cutter Clearance a
Metal Thickness
0.3 mm
0.2 – 1.4 mm
0.5 mm
1.5 – 2.8 mm
0.7 mm
2.9 – 3.5 mm
0.9 mm
3.6 – 4.5 mm
For softer or more ductile materials, the clear-
ance a must be decreased; for harder or more
brittle materials, increased.
Remove the nut 8. Loosen the screw 10 and set
the lower blade 7 to the required blade distance a
with the set screw 9. Check the distance with the
aid of the setting gauge 14. Re-tighten the
screw 10. Fasten the nut 8.
