Setting the AMK reference point
Procedure:
1.
Determine the reference point for the AMK encoder
in the "
CAMBox calibration
" dialog box (CONFIGU-
RATION >> CALIBRATION). To do so, select <
F2
>.
Once the reference point has been successfully
determined, the EPS controller release is cancel-
led automatically. The lights on the EPS control
unit go out.
2.
Exit from the EPS 945 system software.
3.
Shut down Windows.
4.
Shut down the PC unit.
5.
Turn the EPS off and back on using the master switch.
6.
Call up the EPS 945 system software.
7.
Select the softkey <
F7
> in the “
main menu
” dialog box.
8.
Enter the password:
1958
and confirm with <
F12
>.
9.
Select the menu option “
Calibration >> CAMBox
” in
the “
Configuration
” dialog box and call up with <
F12
>.
10.
Switch on the EPS converter and the test oil pump
on the EPS control unit.

Do not switch on the lubricating oil supply.
11.
Release the controller on the control unit.
12.
Start the EPS with <
F8
>. The following message ap-
pears in the system software info line:
No CAMBox
reference pulse. Start reference pulse
search with F7 Initialization (n=30 1/
min).
13.
Call up the "
Angle funct.
" menu with <
F7
> and
select the
Initialization
function.
The EPS drive starts up and performs a calibra-
tion run. The following message appears in the
info line after successful detection of the re-
ference pulse:
CAMBox reference point
run active. CAMBox positioning in 0°
circle of cam for mechanical strain
relief!
.
The message disappears following successful in-
itialization. The EPS drive comes to a halt.
14.
Once the EPS drive has come to a halt, check that
the
CRI 800
display box on the monitor is 359 ±1°. If
the value is outside the tolerance range, the setting
procedure for the rotary encoder must be repeated.

Exit from configuration.
16.
Re-attach the test bench covers.

The CAM 847 tester set is then ready for operation.
For test purposes, the lubricating oil supply also has
to be connected to the CAMBox.
