8 SERVICE AND REPAIR: COOKTOP
8.1
Replacing the Maintop
1. Disconnect power to the range, and slide it out from the cutout.
2. Remove the 5 screws securing the rear vent trim.
3. Remove the 4 screws securing each side of the ceramic maintop
assembly.
4. Grasp the rear of the maintop with both hands and slide it toward
the rear, angling it slightly upward to disengage the maintop from
beneath the lip of the front panel.
5. Rest the maintop as shown below, and remove the 3 screws on all
four sides, which secure the internal frame to the ceramic
maintop.
6. Carefully lift the maintop away from the internal frame; the
element covers, induction sets beneath them, and the display
board and its support will be accessible.
7. Install the new maintop and reassemble.
8. Restore power and test operation.
9. Slide the range back into place, being sure to properly engage the
anti-tip bracket.

range is turned off before servicing.
If testing the appliance requires the use of electrical power, exercise
extreme caution.
