For your own safety
The GSM car phone or the BMW
mobile phone means that you can
always be contacted and make outgo-
ing telephone calls.

Perform all inputs while the vehi-
cle is stationary. The car's occu-
pants and other road users could other-
wise be put at risk.
<
Holding a telephone or handset in
your hand while driving is danger-
ous, and is already prohibited in most
countries. When you wish to use your
phone, you should always use the
hands-free unit or stop at an appropri-
ate place where you are not endanger-
ing other vehicles.

The on-board computer can be used to
carry out the following telephone func-
tions quickly and directly:

Making an emergency call
>
Entering PIN code
>
Dialling by entering phone number
>
Dialling by name
>
Reading SMS messages
>
Calling up information on the recep-
tion strength.
These functions will operate provided
you have stored the relevant informa-
tion in the telephone or activated the
relevant functions.
It is possible to use the hands-free unit
for the phone from ignition key position
1 using the on-board computer.
You can only operate the tele-
phone via the on-board computer
if the telephone is inserted in the
holder.

TOP-8 or the directory, these lists
are displayed first. To access the other
functions, select

2. Select "Telephone"
3. Select if appropriate.
