1. Switch on the radio, see page

The front panel is lowered
3. Push the tape cassette fully into the
slot with the tape openings at the
right.
The front panel is then automatically
raised again. "TAPE 1" appears on
the screen.
The front panel has a trap protec-
tion feature. It automatically stops
if it encounters an obstruction while
moving back into its home position.

If there is already a tape cassette in the
slot:
To start cassette play
Press as often as necessary until
"TAPE 1" is displayed
Change to the other side if necessary
Stopping
The front panel is lowered and the cas-
sette is ejected part way out of the tape
slot

control line changes to the desired au-
dio source (radio or CD changer

TAPE ERROR
The tape in the cassette in the slot can-
not be moved.
To avoid the risk of damage:
Press until the cassette is ejected and
remove the cassette from the tape slot.
Turn one of the reels e. g. with the aid of
a ballpoint pen, to take up any tape
slack.
Insert the cassette in the tape slot again
and wind the entire tape once in each
direction, to make sure tape is wound
evenly.
If this message appears on the screen
again, the cassette in question should
no longer be used.
TAPE CLEAN
This message appears twice in succes-
sion when a cassette is inserted, after
50 hours of operation. It simplifies esti-
mating the time intervals between
cleaning operations. Care of cassettes,
see the brochure "Looking after your
car".
