HEADLIGHT
Headlight adjustment for
right- or left-hand traffic
The asymmetrical low-beam
headlight dazzles the oncoming
traffic when riding in countries
which drive on the other side
of the road to that of the mo-
torcycle's country of registra-
tion.
Have the headlights adjusted to
the prevailing conditions by a
specialist workshop, preferably
an authorised BMW Motorrad
Retailer.
Headlight beam throw and
spring preload
Headlight beam throw is
generally kept constant when
spring preload is adjusted to
suit load.
Spring preload adjustment
might not suffice only if the
motorcycle is very heavily
loaded. Under these circum-
stances, headlight beam throw
has to be adjusted to suit
the weight carried by the
motorcycle.
