Expanding the load area
The rear seat back is split into two sections. You
can fold down either section individually as a
means of expanding the load area.
Reach into the recess and pull forwards.
When folding back, make sure that the
catches engage properly. The red warn-
ing zone in the recess then disappears. If this is
not done, even braking or swerving could be
sufficient to displace items of luggage into the
occupant compartment, endangering the occu-
pants.

Storage compartments in
load area
Depending on specification, there are the fol-
lowing storage options in the load area.

Storage compartments behind the detach-
able side trims on the right and left in the
load area, and beneath the floor panel flap.

Storage tray

beneath the floor panel flap,
capacity approx. 80 litres, approx. 2.8 cu ft.
>
Tensioning straps
*
on the left and right side
trim for securing small items.
>
Hooks
*
e.g. for shopping bags or carrier
bags on the left and right in the load area.
>
Net
*
on the left side trim of the load area, for
small items.
>
Lashing rail with lashing eyes
*
. You can
attach load securing equipment to the lash-
ing eyes.
They can be removed at the recesses in the
rails. To slide the lashing eyes, press the
button.

with load securing equipment.

Floor panel flap
For access to the toolkit, etc.
To open, swing up the flap by the handle, see
arrow.
The floor panel flap can be locked.
Adaptive fixing system*
The adaptive fixing system is for subdividing
the load area. It comprises two brackets with a
telescopic rail and tensioning strap. These are
guided in the two rails on the load area floor.
Before using the adaptive fixing system,
fold up the seat backs of the second or
third seat row and engage them, then engage
the partition net, otherwise the load could be
thrown into the car in the event of an accident.
