Clamping bolts in axle
mount
Tightening sequence: Tighten
the screws 6 times, alternating
between one and the other
each time
14 lb/ft (19 Nm)
Slide the brake calipers on the
left-hand and right-had side
onto the brake discs.
Install mounting bolts 4 on
left and right with appropriate
torque.
Radial brake caliper in
axle mount
28 lb/ft (38 Nm)
Remove adhesive tape from
wheel rim.
WARNING
Brake pads do not contact
the brake disc
Risk of accident due to delayed
braking effect.
Before driving off, check that
the braking effect kicks in with-
out any delay.
Engage the brakes repeatedly,
continuing until the brake pads
seat against the discs.
Insert the wheel speed sensor
cable into the holding clips

and 2 .
Insert the wheel speed sen-
sor into the bore and install
screw
3 .
Wheel speed sensor on
forkleg
Thread-locking compound:
micro-encapsulated
6 lb/ft (8 Nm)
Remove front wheel stand and
auxiliary stand.
Removing the rear wheel
Raise motorcycle, preferably
with a BMW Motorrad rear-
wheel stand.
