preload adjustment might not
be adequate. If that is the case,
the headlight beam throw must
be adapted to the weight.
NOTICE
If there are doubts as to the cor-
rect headlight range, have the
adjustment checked by a spe-
cialized workshop, preferably by
an authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Clutch
Adjusting clutch lever
WARNING
Modified position of the
clutch fluid reservoir
Air in the clutch system
Do not twist the handlebar fit-
ting or the handlebars.
WARNING
Adjusting the clutch lever
while driving
Accident hazard
Adjust the clutch lever when
the motorcycle is stationary.
Rotate the adjusting screw 1
into the desired position by
applying gentle pressure from
the rear.
NOTICE
The adjusting screw is easier
to turn when the clutch lever is
pressed forward.
Adjustment options:
From position 1: smallest dis-
tance between handlebar grip
and clutch lever
To position 5: largest distance
between handlebar grip and
clutch lever
