ABS self-diagnosis not completed
ABS is not available, as the self-diagnosis
routine was not completed. (The motor-
cycle must reach a specified minimum
speed before the system can check oper-
ation of the wheel speed sensors: 3 mph
(5 km/h))
If an ABS error is displayed after the ABS
self-diagnosis is completed:
You may continue driving. Bear in mind
that neither the ABS function nor the inte-
gral function is available.
Have the malfunction corrected as soon as
possible at a specialist workshop, prefer-
ably an authorized BMW Motorrad retailer.
ASC self-diagnosis
The self-diagnosis routine checks whether
the BMW Motorrad ASC is ready for oper-
ation. The self-diagnosis routine runs auto-
matically when you switch on the ignition.
Phase 1
Check of system components monitored
by the diagnostic system while the vehicle
is at a standstill.
ASC indicator and warning light
flashes.
Phase 2
Check of the diagnosable system compo-
nents while driving.
ASC indicator and warning light
flashes.
ASC self-diagnosis completed
The ASC indicator and warning light goes
out.
Check the display of all indicator and
warning lights.
ASC self-diagnosis not completed
ASC is not available because the self-di-
agnosis routine was not completed. (The
motorcycle must reach a specified mini-
mum speed before the system can check
operation of the wheel speed sensors:
min 3 mph (min 5 km/h))
If an ASC error is displayed after the ASC
self-diagnosis is completed:
You may continue driving. Note that the
ASC function and the dynamic engine
brake control are not available.
Have the malfunction corrected as soon as
possible at a specialist workshop, prefer-
ably an authorized BMW Motorrad retailer.
