Use of other-make products
Safety risk
BMW Motorrad cannot exam-
ine or test each product of out-
side origin to ensure that it can
be used on or in connection
with BMW vehicles without
constituting a safety hazard.
Country-specific official author-
isation does not suffice as as-
surance. Tests conducted by
these instances cannot make
provision for all operating con-
ditions experienced by BMW
vehicles and, consequently,
they are not sufficient in some
circumstances.
Use only parts and accessor-
ies approved by BMW for your
vehicle.
The components and accessory
products have been thoroughly
checked by BMW for safety,
function and suitability. BMW
therefore takes responsibility for
the products. BMW does not
accept liability for unauthorised
parts and accessory products of
any kind.
Legal provisions must be taken
into account when any changes
are made. Please refer to the
road traffic licensing regulations
(in Germany StVZO) for your
country.

Power sockets
Notes on use of power sockets:
Automatic switch-off
The vehicle voltage is low if
this warning symbol is dis-
played. If necessary, the sockets
will be temporarily switched off.
The on-board sockets are also
switched off when the engine
is being cranked by the starter
and if maximum load capability
as stated in the technical data is
exceeded.
If several sockets are in opera-
tion, the total current must not
exceed the maximum load capa-
city.
Operating electrical
accessories
Auxiliary devices operated using
a socket can only be switched on
when the ignition is switched on.
