until brake pads contact brake
disk.

Clip in retaining clips of ABS
sensor cable on brake line.
The cable of the ABS sen-
sor could chafe through if
it comes into contact with the
brake disk.
Make sure that ABS sensor cable
is routed correctly.
Make sure that ABS sensor
cable is routed as shown.
Remove rear wheel stand.
Removing rear wheel
Place motorcycle on an auxil-
iary stand; BMW Motorrad rec-
ommends BMW Motorrad rear
wheel stand.

Remove 5 screws

Take off rear wheel.
Installing rear wheel
Threaded fasteners not
tightened to the specified
torque can work loose or their
threads can suffer damage.
Always have the tightening
torques checked by a specialized
workshop, preferably an
authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Make sure that wheel centering
device and contact surfaces of
wheel hub are grease-free.
Seat the rear wheel on the
wheel centering spigot.
Hand-tighten 5 wheel studs

and then tighten to specified
torque.
