Install small screws

not tighten.
Align the handlebars in the
clamping blocks such that the
centers of the marks

are in
line with the gaps between
the top and bottom clamping
blocks.
Threaded fasteners not
tightened to the specified
torque can work loose or their
threads can suffer damage.
Always have the tightening
torques checked by a specialized
workshop, preferably an
authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Tighten large screws
2
with
torque.
Handlebar clamping
block on fork bridge
28 lb/ft (38 Nm)
No gap may remain between
handlebar clamping blocks on
side of large screws.
If necessary, slacken screws
1
and retighten screws
2
to the
specified tightening torque.
Tighten the small screws
1
with torque.
Handlebars on handlebar
clamping block
14 lb/ft (19 Nm)
A gap remains between han-
dlebar clamping blocks on side
of small screws.
