Adjusting mirrors
Pivot the mirror to the correct
position by pressing gently at
the edge.
Headlight
Headlight adjustment for
right- or left-hand traffic
This vehicle is equipped with a
symmetrical low-beam head-
light. When riding in countries
which drive on the other side of
the road to that of the Scooter's
country of registration, no further
measures are required.
Headlight beam throw and
spring preload
The headlight beam throw gen-
erally remains constant by adjust-
ment of the spring preload to the
load status.
If you are in doubt as to the cor-
rect headlight beam throw set-
ting, consult a specialist work-
shop, preferably an authorised
BMW Motorrad Retailer.
Spring preload
Adjustment
It is essential to set spring pre-
load of the rear wheel to suit the
load carried by the Scooter. In-
crease spring preload when the
vehicle is heavily loaded and re-
duce spring preload accordingly
when the vehicle is lightly loaded.
Adjusting spring preload
for rear wheel
Place the Scooter on its stand
on firm, even ground.
To increase the spring preload,
rotate the adjustment rings

using the toolkit in the direction
of arrow
