Trackwheel
Scrolling and selecting
Roll the trackwheel to scroll up and down
through screen lines, fields, and menu items.
Click (press) the trackwheel to open menus and
select options.
Scrolling through special characters
When you are composing a message or typing
text, hold a letter key and roll the trackwheel to
scroll through letters with accents, equation
symbols, and other characters. When the desired
character, symbol, or mark appears, release the
letter.
Alt
key
Typing Alt characters
The
Alt
key activates the numbers and symbols
that are printed on the keys in the alternate color
above the letters.
Press the
Alt
key once to affect the next
character that you type.
Hold the
Alt
key while you type to affect all
characters.
An

icon appears in the upper right corner of
your screen when the
Alt
key
is active.

Scrolling horizontally and changing options
On the palm-sized handheld Home screen, hold
the
Alt
key and roll the trackwheel to move the
cursor vertically.
Hold the
Alt
key
and roll the trackwheel to move
the cursor horizontally across lines of text.

key and roll the trackwheel to scroll
through field options.
