Intended use
Your BLACK+DECKER HHS315J vacuum cleaner with floor
head and handle has been designed for light dry vacuum
cleaning purposes. This appliance is intended for household
use only.
Assembly (Fig. A, B–D)
1. Push the handle

firmly into the extension pole

nOTE:
This process only needs to be performed once,
as you will be unable to remove the handle from the
extension pole once it is locked in place.
2. Push the extension pole

into the opening on the
power head until it clicks into place as shown in Fig. C.
3. To release the extension pole from the power head
press the extension pole release button

Charging the battery (Fig. E)
WARNING:
For use only with the
supplied charger.
From new, the rechargeable cells of the product need a
minimum charge time of 16 hours to ensure full power.
• Plug the jack plug of the charger

into the charging
socket

of the vacuum cleaner as shown in Fig. E.
Plug the charger into any standard 120 Volt 60 Hz
electrical outlet.

While charging, the charger may get warm, this is perfectly
normal and safe. It is safe to leave the appliance connected
to the charger indefinitely. The charger automatically
reduces power consumption when charging is complete.
WARNING:
Do not charge the battery
at ambient temperatures below 39 °F (4 °C) or above
104 °F (40 °C).
USE
Switching on and off (Fig. F)
• Fig. F - To start, slide the On/Off switch

forward (i.e.
“O”= Off, “I” = On).
• To stop, slide the switch back.
nOTE:
Return the product to the charger immediately
after use so that it will be ready and fully charged for the
next use. Ensure that the product is fully engaged with the
charger plug.
