Modem
Separate DSP Transmit and Receive Modems
The physical layer connection is established by two DSP (Digital Signal Processing)
modems. Each modem is dedicated to one direction of the link; transmit or receive.
Adaptive Equalization
The time dispersion of the transmitted signal caused by multipath propagation causes inter-
symbol interference (ISI). To compensate for the ISI, an adaptive equalizer is included in the
modem.
