Crossover Media Converters, 100-Mbps enable you to translate

between twisted pair and fibre. A crossover feature is built in, so you
don’t need to worry about using external crossover cables.

For rackmounting, order the Rackmount Tray (LE1505-RACK) or

the Powered Rackmount Tray (LH1505P-RACK). Each tray holds up to
16 media converters. The powered tray supplies power for up to eight
media converters. You can also wallmount the converters with the
included VELCRO

or metal brackets. DIN Rail Mounting Brackets are

available, too.

WDM (Single-Strand Fibre) for Multimode Media Converter

Use WDM up to two kilometres over multimode fibre.

Are you running out of fibre cables? Do you need more

bandwidth? It used to be that WDM technology was only available
for single-mode fibre cables. But now you have the chance to use
WDM technology with standard 50/125 or 62.5/125 μm multimode
cables as well, which means you can use your existing cables! You
now only need one cable for a 100-Mbps link. But that is not the
whole story. Since the LMC7030A/LMC7031A works at distances up
to 2 kilometres, there is more you can do.

Think about the nice new Gigabit world out there. It's useful —

and sometimes necessary — to have more bandwidth than just 100-
Mbps. Would you like to upgrade to Gigabit, but your multimode
cables are too long for Gigabit multimode? Get two small Gigabit
switches with trunking features, like LBS401AE, and connect your
Gigabit network on both ends. Then connect up to four LMC7030A
on one side and four LMC7031A on the other side by trunking those
four ports used for the WDM Multimode converters. You only use
four fibre cables but get an uplink speed of 400-Mbps at the
distance where you once ran just two standard 100-Mbps fibre links.

To have a working system you always need matching pairs. One

LMC7030A connects to one LMC7031A only.
