SERVSWITCH™ CONSOLE PLUS

Appendix F. KVM placement / conflicts
It is possible, but not recommended, in an expanded system with multiple
ServSwitch Console Plus switches, to connect additional KVM stations to other
ServSwitch Console Plus units in the system. This allows more than one user
access to the computers from multiple access locations.
When doing this, all users share the same video path from switch to switch.
(KVM port on ServSwitch Console Plus #1 and KVM port on ServSwitch
Console Plus #3) As long as all KVM users only connect to the computers that
are attached to their local ServSwitch Console Plus, they can operate with no
conflicts. If a user tries to connect to a computer on a different ServSwitch
Console Plus switch and a user is already connected, the video path is canceled
and the ServSwitch Console Plus may not function properly, requiring a recycle
of the unit’s power. If you do use multiple KVM stations, users should be made
aware of the possibility of locking up the entire system.
