Status (Ux)
Function
Reads a status word and returns the information as a string. Set x to:
Remarks
After sending the status command, a status word is sent the next time the
unit is addressed to talk. To ensure the correct status is transmitted, the sta-
tus word should be requested as soon as possible after the command is sent.
Machine Status Word (U0):
The format of the machine status word is

Error Status Word (U1):
The format of the error status word and the possi-
ble error messages are shown in F igu r e 33. All fla gs will r ever t t o t h eir n on -
error states after the U1 command is sent.

Note:
This command sets the unit to the settings that were last issued
remotely (through RS-232 or GPIB). Therefore, it will over ride any manual
changes selected at the front panel of the unit.
