Maintenance
WARNING Before performing any maintenance power down the unit then disconnect
the power cord and all test cables.
9.1 Calibration
9.1.1 SP-200/SP-240/SP-300/VSP-300/VMP-300
Our instruments do not require specific maintenance. Each channel board is calibrated at the
factory before it is delivered to the customer. Due to the temperature differences between
winter and summer, we recommend adjustment of the gains and offsets of the channel boards
twice a year, especially if the instrument is not in an air-conditioned room. This adjustment is
performed using the EC-Lab
software “
Channel Calibration
” in the “
Tools
” menu.
We also recommend a full check-up of the instrument (at the factory) every two years.
9.1.2 HCV-3048 external booster
If the HCV-3048 is purchased with a potentiostat or with a channel board, it will be calibrated
at the factory and retain the better accuracy values specified in 10.2.7.
If the external booster is purchased separately from the controlling channel board then there
are two options:
. the user accepts to have the accuracy given by performing a calibration using the calibration
board and specified in 10.2.7.
. the user can send the controlling potentiostat board to the factory to allow a calibration with
the HCV-3048, giving the factory accuracy.
In both cases, we suggest a factory calibration of the HCV-3048 every year.
In which case
it has to be returned with the controlling potentiostat channel.
9.2 Ventilation
WARNING
The user must carefully check that the ventilation grids are not obstructed on the right
and left sides and under the chassis. An external cleaning can be made with a vacuum
cleaner if necessary. Please see 2.1.3 for more detailed information.
9.3 Cleaning
9.3.1 Ventilation grids
External cleaning can be made with a vacuum cleaner if necessary. Use a damp cloth or mild,
water-based cleaner to clean the instrument. Clean the exterior of the box only, never the
circuit board.
WARNING
Do not apply cleaner directly
to the box
or
allow liquids to enter or spill
on the box.
9.3.2 Air filters cleaning
Filters are placed underneath the instrument to filter the air and retain the dust that may come
with the inlet air flow that is cooling the power supply (and not the heat sinks). It is
recommended to clean periodically the filter. This filter is located on the underside of the
instrument and is outlined in red (Fig. 115)
