5 Putting into operation
PSB
done by means of short-circuit ignition. The initial arc produces a conductive
plasma which is accelerated in the nozzle and directed to the part. The
working arc is struck between the cutting torch electrode and the part. The
work-piece material is melted by the energy of impact, dissociation and
ionisation and blown out by the kinetic energy of the plasma jet. The
compressed air is used to cool the cable assembly and cutting torch.
5.2 Manual cutting torch
The torch head is positioned at an angle of 100° (PSB 31) or 105° (PSB 60/
111), relative to the handle axis.
The wear parts plasma nozzle, protective cap, electrode and insulator are
parts that can be replaced simply by inserting them or screwing them in. For
protection of the operator, the torch is equipped with a fuse terminal, which,
upon disconnection of the wear parts, will automatically interrupt the switch-
on circuit.
Accessories such as torch carriage, torch circular guide and spacer can be
attached and locked on the outer contour of the protective cap.
Accessories
• Torch carriage for straight cuts or additionally equipped with circular
guide, prepared for cutting circular components in the range from ø100 to
ø1000 mm. (The torch carriage is clamped around the protective cap)
5.3 AUT cutting torches
In these models, the cutting torch nozzles are positioned in a straight line,
relative to the torch body axis.
The wear parts plasma nozzle, protective cap, electrode and insulator are
parts that can be replaced simply by inserting them or screwing them in.
Accessories
• Mount for automatic cutting torch
DANGER
Risk of injury due to unexpected start-up.
For the entire duration of maintenance, servicing, dismounting and repair
work, the following instructions must be adhered to:
• Switch off the power source and close off the gas supply.
• Pull the mains plug.
NOTE
• The system may only be put into operation by trained personnel.
