BOOTmonitor
If you want to use the BOOTmonitor functions, press the Space bar within 4
seconds of the BOOTmonitor prompt appearing (
figure 10-6, page 346
). If you
do not make an entry within 4 seconds,
X3200
changes back to Normal Mode.
Functions
The BOOTmonitor provides the following functions, which you can select by en-
tering the relevant digit (for more detailed information, refer to the Software
Reference):
■
(1) Boot system:
X3200
loads the compressed boot file from the flash memory to the RAM
memory. This happens automatically when started.
■
(2) Software update via TFTP:
X3200
performs a software update via a TFTP server.
■
(3) Software update via XMODEM:
X3200
performs a software update over a serial interface with XMODEM.
■
(4) Delete configuration:
X3200
is reset to the unconfigured ex works state. All configuration files are
deleted and the BOOTmonitor settings are set to the default values.
■
(5) Default BOOTmonitor parameters:
You can change the default settings of
X3200
’s BOOTmonitor, e.g. the
baud rate for serial connections.
If you change the baud rate (the preset value is 9600 bauds), make sure the
terminal program used also uses this baud rate. If this is not the case, you will
not be able to establish a serial connection to
X3200
!
