WARNING:
Swallowing batteries and/or battery fluid can be extremely dangerous. Keep the battery and scale
•
out of the reach of children and disabled persons. Should any person swallow a battery and/or
battery fluid, please call 911 immediately.
Should battery fluid leak and come into contact with your eyes or skin, immediately rinse with
•
plenty of clean water. Please call 911 immediately.
Batteries should not be charged or reactivated by any other means.
•
Batteries should not be taken apart, thrown in the fire or short circuited.
•
CAUTION:
If a battery has leaked do not touch the battery fluid. Avoid skin contact (e.g. put on protective
•
gloves) and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.
NOTICE:
Always use the size and type of batteries indicated.
•
Never use different types of batteries, battery brands or batteries with different capacities.
•
Never use rechargeable batteries. This may damage the unit.
•
Always replace all batteries at the same time and use batteries of the same type.
•
Replace weak batteries before they discharge completely. When “Lo” appears in the display
•
please change the batteries.
To avoid draining the batteries do not place any items on the scale (Please make sure that there
•
is no weight on the feet of the scale) when not in use.
Leaking batteries may damage the device. If you do not intend to use the scale for longer periods,
•
remove the batteries from the battery compartment before placing the device in storage.
Batteries can contain toxins that are harmful to health and the environment. Always dispose of
•
batteries in accordance with applicable local regulations. Do not dispose of batteries with nor-
mal household waste.
If present, remove the battery insulating strip or remove the battery’s protective film and insert the batteries
according to the polarity. If the scale fails to operate, remove the batteries completely and reinsert them.
Replace the battery cover carefully.
New batteries will last for approximately 2 years if the unit is used three
times per day. Trial batteries supplied with the unit may have a shorter
life. Remove batteries if you do not intend to use the scale for longer
periods before placing the device in storage.
Your scale is equipped with a “replace battery” indicator. When the scale
is operated with a battery that is too weak, “Lo” appears in the display field and the scale automatically
switches off. The batteries must be replaced in this case (4 x 1.5 V, AAA, Micro).
