The UPS is
completely off
and will not
start.
•The UPS may have shut down
because its batteries ran down dur-
ing a long power outage.
•The UPS may have been over-
loaded.
•There may be a UPS problem.
Shut down the equipment connected to
the UPS. Press the key for a few
seconds. If the UPS does not start, leave
the UPS plugged in overnight. If the
UPS still does not start, follow the prop-
er Customer Process for Service in
Section 7B, IBM Service Support.
The UPS turns
itself off
immediately
after you start
it.
The UPS’ batteries are completely
discharged, and utility (AC input)
power is not available to the UPS.
(The batteries may have been dis-
charged because the UPS was in
storage or because the UPS ran on
battery power for a long time.)
Make sure the UPS is plugged in, and
leave it plugged in overnight to recharge
the batteries. Then, restart the UPS.
Note: You cannot restart the UPS dur-
ing a power outage because it
must have utility power to oper-
ate and to recharge the batteries.

Limited 2-Year Warranty
The warranty service on the Best Power LI720U-B71, LI720E-B72, LI1420U-B73, and
LI1420E-B74 UPS is element exchange. If the UPS becomes inoperative, the inoperative
module will be replaced. The process for obtaining a replacement module varies by coun-
try. Under no conditions are IBM Customer Engineers authorized to remove the covers.
The UPSs for this program are warranted by Best Power for two years in EMEA
(Europe, the Middle East, and Africa). Warranty starts when the UPS is delivered to the
customer. See the
