Rapid Switch – No: without rapid switchover
– Yes: with rapid switchover
The use of the function Rapid Switch is recommended only for special
applications where the output signal has to adapt rapidly to the new
value, e.g. in case of measurements on small vessels and sudden level
changes.
IMPORTANT
Do not enable the Rapid Switch function if the measurement is
installed into a control loop, since this function works with two dif-
ferent time constants.
Sigma This value is the threshold where the rapid switchover responds.
The higher the value, the higher the threshold and the less likely is the
response of the rapid switchover. Typically, a standard value of 4 is OK.
With irregular levels, e.g. due to agitators, the rapid switchover would be
triggered repeatedly due to the strong level fluctuations. In these cases, it
may be necessary to set the Sigma value higher, e.g. values between 5
and 10. In extreme cases the rapid switchover has to be turned off com-
pletely.
IMPORTANT
SIGMA
is displayed in the parameter table only if rapid switchover
is enabled.
