Replacing the Complete Uni-Probe
Devices that are used in non-hazardous areas may not be used any
more in hazardous areas.
Intrinsically safe devices whose intrinsically safe signals are con-
nected to non-intrinsically safe electric circuits may also not be
connected to intrinsically safe electric circuits any more.
Since devices that are used in non-hazardous areas are not subject
to the supervision and attendance of explosion protection experts,
it is not ensured that, e.g. for repair or assembly, the same care is
exercised as required for devices in hazardous areas. Explosion
protection safety, therefore, cannot be guaranteed any more. The
same holds true for the intrinsic safety of devices.

Document all software parameters of the installed Uni-Probe.

Disconnect the Uni-Probe from mains.

Disconnect possibly connected relay contacts and all in- and
outputs from power.

Unscrew the housing cover (M32 screw wrench).

Open wiring on digital board and on the terminal clamps.
Tip
If the wires are not marked, we recommend marking the individual
wires before disconnecting them.
After you have disconnected the wires and cable, attach the hous-
ing cover again immediately to make sure the screw threads are
not damaged during mechanical disassembly.

Dismantle old Uni-Probe from the fixture.

Mount the Uni-Probe on the fixture.

Unscrew housing cover of new Uni-Probe.

Connect wires.

Close the housing carefully with the cover. Screw the housing
cover completely onto the housing and pull it tight using a
torque of 25Nm (reference value).
Before closing, make sure that the threads are clean and greased
with OKS 217.

Turn on power.

Enter the Uni-Probe parameters you have written down, with
the exception of the parameter HV-Default via the HART
®
Com-
municator or via SIMATIC PDM (see the respective software
description).
