Selection of synchronization
Rate Number of pump cycles [1/min]
One pump cycle comprises the suctioning and ejec-
tion of blood by the blood pump.
In synchronous and asynchronous modes, setting
the rate in one blood pump simultaneously sets the
rate of the other blood pump.
In separate mode, the rate for each blood pump can
be set separately. Here, the rate for the right side of
the heart can be selected as equal to or smaller than
the rate for the left side of the heart.
Flow alarm threshold The flow alarm threshold is a freely adjustable
threshold value. If the measurement falls below the
flow alarm threshold, an alarm will be emitted.
Flow The flow sensor measures the current flow in the
cannula. The measured value is displayed in the
M
ONITORING
window.
The flow cannot be set directly. The flow is automat-
ically calculated based on the rate and on the
selected combination of blood pump and cannulae.
Parameter Description
Synchronization Synchronization of the blood pumps can only be
selected in BVAD operating mode. These settings
determine whether the right and left blood pumps
are operated in synchronous, asynchronous, or sep-
arate mode (independently of one another).
Synchronous
mode The two blood pumps work synchronously. This is
the default setting if the blood pump connected on
the left is larger than the one on the right.
