Start Test for the Driving Unit
A driving unit that has not yet been configured will automatically perform a start test
upon starting up. The start test is a routine used to check driving unit functionality. The
start test lasts a maximum of one minute.
Once the start test has completed without errors, the driving unit is ready. After that,
the driving unit can be configured. If an error occurs during the start test, it will be dis-
played.
If an error does not allow for commissioning, this will be shown on the connected panel
PC.

Driving Unit Self-Test
The self-test is a routine carried out during operation to check the driving unit. It serves
to check back-up components. The self-test also checks whether the driving unit is
due for maintenance.
The self-test is conducted once a day and lasts approximately 30 seconds. The sys-
tem may make different operating sounds during the self-test. Blood pump operation
is not affected.
The self-test time can be configured. Schedule the self-test for a time when the patient
will be awake. That way, the user will be able to react more effectively to messages
like

DUE
, because messages will not disturb the patient while he or
she is awake.
