3.1
Safety instructions for installation

Hazard through disregard of the installation instructions!
This chapter contains important information for the safe
installation of the device.

device.

Carry out the installation as described.

Installation only by qualified specialist personnel.

The hob and other parts that can be touched must be
allowed to cool prior to installation.
y
Store the film or other parts of the packaging in a location
which is inaccessible to children.

The device must be in an undamaged and fault-free
condition prior to installation.

Cables must not be kinked, crushed or damaged.
y
Never open the fan housing.
y
It is not permissible to attach further components
(e.g. panels, air ducts) to the device.
y
The power supply voltage must match the voltage
information quoted on the ratings plate.

Ensure that the power supply is stable and remains so
prior to the installation.
Connect the power supply only when instructed to do so
in the installation instructions.
Observe the safety information in the documentation for
the hob.
3.2
Requirements for the installation location

WARNING!
Risk of death due to improper installation!
Disregard of the ambient conditions can lead to hazardous
situations, e.g. in the handling of electrical power or gas.

Make sure that the requirements for the installation
location are complied with.
y
Do not install in potentially explosive atmospheres.
y
Make sure that the building electrical supply is properly
earthed.
y
The power supply voltage present must match the
voltage information quoted on the ratings plate.
y
The customer must supply a means of connection to the
voltage supply in the installation area.
y
The customer must provide a separate connection point
with dedicated fuse for the hob.
y
An all-pole isolating device (with a contact gap of at least
3 mm) must be provided.
y
Use of an extension cable for connection to the voltage
supply is not permitted.
y
The device must only be installed next to cabinets or
walls on one side in accordance with Type Y protection
against the risk of fire. Furniture or devices on the other
side must not be higher than the hob.
y
The distance from the device to a wall or furniture to the
side must be at least 40 mm.
y
The distance between the hob and cabinets above the
hob must be at least 600 mm.
y
Air circulation must be ensured for sufficient ventilation of
the device:
y
Ventilation outlet opening at least 120 cm
2
(e.g. in the
rear wall of the cabinet).
y
Minimum gap beneath the device of 20 mm.
y
Do not install in an enclosed cabinet.
y
The device must not be installed above the following
devices:
y
Oven without fan
y
Dishwasher
y
Clothes dryer
y
The work top must be installed with heat-resistant
adhesive (75 °C), sealed with special paint, silicone rubber
or cast resin.
y
Wall trim used in conjunction with installation must be
heat-resistant.
y
The device must remain accessible at all times for
maintenance work.
y
If necessary for the installation, only use suitable hob
protection grates or hob covers.
