Chapter 3: Installation Procedure
AVERTISSEMENT
Connecting Conductors from Source Circuits
Source circuits refer to output from PV arrays to the combiner.
In this section it is assumed that all arrays are negatively grounded. To positively
ground arrays, route the negative conductors to the fuse blocks and the positive
conductors to the busbar without fuses (the grounded bar).
1. Label each wire from the source circuit with a reference number and its
polarity.
2. Open all fuse holders as a safety precaution to interrupt input current flow.
3. Run all wires into the Disconnect Combiner enclosure through the selected
watertight hub.
4. Strip 1/2 inch of the insulation from all the wires.
5. Terminate all ungrounded wires on the corresponding fuse block input in
order by labeled fuse block. If there are fewer connections to be made than
there are fuse blocks in the unit, populate the lower fuse block numbers first.
6. Terminate all grounded wires on the grounded busbar.
7. Terminate all equipment ground conductors to the equipment ground
terminal block.
Attaching Conductors to the Recombiner or Inverter
After referring to the electrical drawings to determine which wire to use, connect
ungrounded, grounded, and equipment ground conductors to appropriate
points in the recombiner or inverter, depending on the system.
Install the conduit and pull the wires from the Combiner to the recombiner or
inverter.
Follow all local codes.
