Carefully read the instructions before using the child seat and keep them in a safe place for future reference.
Carefully follow this instructions manual. If the child seat is installed or used incorrectly, this may
seriously jeopardize the child and the cyclist’s safety.
Check the Highway Code of the country in which the child seat is being used.
Warning
: failure to comply with the manufacturer’s instructions may compromise the safety of the child
and of the cyclist and may result in serious injury or death.
NOTICE
It is strictly forbidden to modify the child seat or its supports. The manufacturer, distributor or retailer
cannot be held liable for any damages caused by any modifi cations made by the end-user.
The manoeuvrability of the bicycle can considerably vary with a child in the seat, especially in terms of
balance, cornering, steering and braking.
The child seat may cause the handlebar to be more diffi cult to manoeuvre. Replace the handlebar if the
child seat reduces the steering angle to less than 45° on each side.
Never leave the bike parked with an unattended child in the seat.
Never leave a child in the seat when the bicycle is held up only by the stand.
Do not use the child seat and/or bicycle if there are any broken or missing parts of the bike or of the
seat. Contact the manufacturer or retailer to request any spare parts for the child seat.
The entire child seat must be replaced after an accident, even if there are no visible damages.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Front-mounted child seat for children weighing up to 15 kg – 33 lbs.; periodically check that the child’s
weight does not exceed such limit.
Only use with children capable of remaining seated on their own, and for long periods of time, without
requiring any assistance (9/12 months approximately). Consult a paediatrician before carrying a child
less than 12 months old.
Use on bikes with 26”-28” wheels that can carry additional loads of at least 18 kg – 39.6 lbs.
Do not add additional loads on the seat, as this may exceed the maximum allowed weight and it will
affect the bicycle’s stability. To carry any other additional loads, use other supports such as a rear rack.
Make sure that the bicycle is in good conditions, and especially ensure that brakes, lights and tyres are
all in perfect working order.
Make sure that the size of the bike is suitable for the cyclist and that it allows all and any necessary
adjustments to ensure maximum safety for the cyclist.
Consult the bicycle’s manual, or the bicycle dealer, for any further information.
Do not install the child seat tilted in a forward position. Tilt slightly backwards in order to hold the child
more effectively.
When installed, the child seat must face the cycling direction.
Do not use the child seat on mopeds, motor scooters, motorbikes, electric bicycles, racing bicycles or
bicycles with suspensions.
Make sure that none of the child’s or the cyclist’s limbs, clothes, shoe-laces or any toys can be caught
in the bike’s moving parts or in the child seat (e.g. in the brakes).
Make sure that the child cannot reach any sharp or pointed part (e.g. frayed brake cables).
Make sure that the child cannot put his fi ngers or feet in the bike’s wheel spokes. We strongly
recommend using a wheel guard.
Always fasten the child with the safety belts and the footrests straps.
Make sure that the child is always warmly dressed, more than the cyclist, and that the child is protected
in the event of rain.
Use exclusively an approved helmet suitable for the child’s head size.
Never carry two children at once.
The cyclist must wear an approved helmet of a suitable size.
Make sure that none of the child seat’s straps interfere with the wheels or with any other moving parts
of the bike, with and without the child on board.
Do not go out cycling with your child in adverse or dangerous weather conditions.
Do not go out cycling at night without adequate lighting: in any such case, we recommend using high-
visibility clothing.
Do not leave the child seat in the sun: when seating the child the heated plastic could burn the child’s
skin or cause other injuries.
Remove the child seat from the bicycle whenever you need to transport the bike on a vehicle (example on
top of a car, on a towed trailer or behind a camper van). This is necessary because the wind force could affect
or damage the child seat to the extent that it might compromise the seat’s reliability when being re-used.
Warning
: The child seat installed on the bicycle could force the cyclist to change the way of getting on
or off the bicycle. Pay special attention when getting “on” or “off” the bike.
Check the bike periodically: tyres, brakes, lights, etc. as well as the seat’s anchoring system.
Periodically wash the child seat with soap and water. Do not use aggressive cleaning products.
INSTALLING THE CHILD SEAT
Do not install the seat when the child is sitting on it.
Identify all provided parts before installation (Fig. A).
Installing the anchoring bracket
Install the anchoring bracket around the bicycle frame as shown in Fig. B.
Warning
: the two tie rods can be adjusted according to four different combinations (Fig. C). Choose the
best-suited one for your bicycle’s frame.
Warning
: orientate the bracket according to the cycling direction (yellow button at the front).
Warning
: do not install the bracket on the handlebar rod.
Warning
: make sure that the brake and gear cables do not interfere with the bracket.
Insert each bracket in the plastic protection and tighten the nuts evenly (Fig. D).
Warning
: periodically check that the screws are tight enough. They may loosen with use.
Warning
: check that the child seat does not cover the bicycle’s lights (front refl ectors or lights). Lights
meeting the CPSC (US Consumer Product Safety Commission) requirements as well as the Highway
Code requirements of the country in which the child seat is being used must be visible at all times, with
or without the child seat on the bike.
Installing the support fork on the child seat
Place the support fork underneath the child seat (Fig. E).
Insert the screws in the seat section (Fig. F).
Place the fi xing plate underneath the child seat (Fig. G).
Tighten the nuts to secure the support fork (Fig. H).
Warning
: periodically check that the screws are tight enough. They may loosen with use.
Installing the child seat on the bike
Hold fi rmly down the yellow button on the bracket and insert the support fork into the holes in the
upper part of the bracket (Fig. I).
Warning: when inserted, make sure that the yellow button clicks back and the fork is securely
blocked. If it does not click back, the fork has not been properly inserted: in such event, repeat
the procedure.
Identify the best position for the child seat:
The cyclist must have enough room to steer and cycle comfortably.
Make sure your knees so not hit the child seat while you are cycling.
Ensure the handlebar does not get stuck in the child seat when steering.
Allow enough room to sit the child in the seat so that he can be easily removed from the seat.
When cycling, the child must have enough room for the legs.
Ensure that the child seat does not interfere with pedals, brakes, gear change mechanism and any
other moving parts on the bike.
Line up the child seat with the bicycle’s axis.
Removing the child seat from the bicycle
Firmly push down the yellow button on the bracket and remove the support fork by pulling it upwards.
INSTALLING AND ADJUSTING THE FOOTRESTS
Do not carry out the footrests settings when the child is sitting in the seat.
Installing the footrests
Take the left footrest (marked with L at the back).
Insert it into the vertical slot for the left leg.
Push it up as far as possible.
Take the blocking lever for the left footrest (marked with SX at the back).
Insert the blocking lever into the hole behind the footrest. Insert it from the outside and push right in (Fig. L).
Close the blocking lever by pushing it downwards until an audible click is heard.
Repeat the above steps for the right footrest (marked DX).
Adjusting the height of the footrests
Before using the seat, ensure that the child’s feet are completely resting on the footrests
To adjust the height of the footrests:
Turn the blocking lever behind the footrest to the upward position (Fig. M).
Move the footrest upwards or downwards until the desired position is reached.
Close the blocking lever by pushing it downwards until an audible click is heard.
FINAL CHECK
Do not run the fi nal check with the child in the seat.
Push the bicycle for a few meters by hand, in order to ensure that no moving parts touch the child seat,
that there are no loose straps near the wheel and that brakes and pedals work properly.
Repeat this check every time you take out the bike for a ride.
PLACING THE CHILD IN THE SEAT
Press the push-button on the central buckle until an audible click is heard and until the lock tab is
released (Fig. N).
Pull upwards to release it.
Place the child in the seat.
Pass the safety belts over the child’s head (Fig. O).
Fasten the central buckle (Fig. P). Push the buckle all the way into the hole until an audible click is heard.
Adjust the loops on the safety belts so that they adhere to the child’s body (Fig. Q).
Place the child’s feet in the footrests.
Close both straps and fasten them to the pin at the back of the footrests (Fig. R).
Warning
: always fasten and tighten all safety straps used to hold the child (both safety belts and feet
straps).
Warning
: when cycling, periodically check that the child is properly fastened at all times.
Warning
: fasten the footrest straps even when a child is not being carried, so that they do not hang
loose from the seat.
