5.2 - How to use the log-splitter
Place a log on the log retention brackets (4 in
fi
g.1, page 2), making sure it is not larger than the dimensions indicated on page 2,
fi
g.3.
Working in the mandatory position only (13 in
fi
g.1 page 2), operate the control levers WITH BOTH HANDS, pulling them towards you: the log
pusher will start to push the log against the wedge, and it will split after a few seconds.
The control system enable you to manage the work speed and power to adapt to the type of wood to be split in the best
way possible. If the wood is soft, pull one of the two control lever completely and pull the other one about halfway: the
log pusher is activated faster but works with reduced thrust. If the wood is particularly hard or seasoned, pull both the
control lever completely: the log pusher is slower but has the maximum power, with greater possibility to break hard
wood. The speed can be varied during the operation simply by pulling more or less the lever towards yourself
WARNING:
Releasing one or both the control levers, the log pusher will stop where it is. Pushing both levers ahead, the log pusher will come back to
the start position, fully open position (max distance from the wedge). The two levers will remain blocked in the return position, enabling the operator to
have both hands free and the levers will automatically return to the central position when the log pusher reaches its end stop.
Repeat the operation with the pieces obtained so as to split the log into several parts.
WARNING:
The log splitter exercises a pressure of about 10 tonnes on the log, more than enough to split even very seasoned wood. Should a log
prove to be too hard for the machine to split it, do not force the cylinder for more than 30 seconds as the hydraulic oil could overheat and damage the
hydraulic circuit. In this case, remove the log and try to split it in another position (turning it 90°) otherwise reject it.
WARNING
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE OPERATOR WORKS ONLY IN THE PERMITTED WORK AREA AS SHOWN IN FIG.1 ON PAGE 2
(POS.13) AND THAT NO OTHER PERSON REMAINS WITHIN A 5 METRE RADIUS OF THE MACHINE WHEN IT IS BEING USED.
WARNING
THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT LIABLE FOR INJURY TO PERSONS, ANIMALS OR OTHER THINGS CAUSED BY AN IMPROPER
USE OF THE MACHINE
5.3 - Moving the log splitter
The log splitter must be moved by lifting it with the handle on the back of the log collection plate (2 in
fi
g.6b, page 3).
Move the log splitter only with lowered log support plate (11 in
fi
g.1, page 2) and lifted log collection plate (12 in
fi
g.1). The log collection plate must be
blocked with the appropriate
fi
xing pin (1 in
fi
g.6b).
