ATM Network Access and Packet Network Access Modules
Quad ATM Network Access (ANA) module, Telica part number 89-0388
and the Packet Network Access (PNA) module, part number 89-0393,
have four optical interfaces for connections to SONET ATM networks.
They are capable of I/O at the maximum rate available in a single Plexus
9000 slot – 2.48Gbps (four 622Mbps switch-fabric channels).
The ANA and PNA module does not have a corresponding rear module.
The rear slot of the corresponding ANA must contain a blank panel to
meet the electromagnetic interference (EMI) and system-cooling
requirements. If there are any unused slots in the front or rear of the
chassis, blank panels must be installed in those slots.
The ANA or PNA module can only be installed in I/O-8 and I/O-10
(physical slots 8 and 14). These are the only system slots that contain four
OC-12 midplane ports. These two slots also contain the interconnection of
the APS buses that are necessary to switchover to support APS
redundancy. The primary module is in I/O-8 and the secondary in I/O-10.
