NOTE:
Avoid pressing any keys on the keyboard or moving the mouse if the currently selected port has a
computer that is in the process of booting up. This may cause the computer to not detect, or initialize the
keyboard or mouse drivers properly.
Daisy-Chaining the OmniView
™
MATRIX
(Skip if you only have one unit):
The OmniView
™
MATRIX can be daisy-chained with additional OmniView
™
MATRIX units through the DB25 daisy-
chain ports. The F1D208-CBL daisy-chain cable (not included) is required for proper operation. Please refer to the
example below. Here, two OmniView
™
MATRIX units are cascaded together for control over 16 computers. Recall
that a maximum of 16 OmniView
™
MATRIX units can be cascaded together for control over 128 computers.
Adding
additional units does not add more consoles to your system.
Please note that the F1D208-CBL is a 3-headed
cable specially designed for daisy-chaining OmniView
™
MATRIX units together.
MASTER
(or previous slave)
SLAVE
(or successive slave)
Hardware Installation
(continued)
First, you must connect the computers to the slave unit (or units), as shown in the previous section. DO NOT POWER
UP THE COMPUTERS CONNECTED TO THE SLAVE UNIT(S) YET. Please refer to the diagram above.
• Using the F1D208-CBL, connect the DB25 to the "Input" connector on the MASTER unit. Connect the HDDB15 "A"
cable to the "A/IN", and the HDDB15 "B" cable to the "B/IN"on the MASTER.
• At the slave side, connect the DB25 to the "Output" connector on the slave unit. Connect the HDDB15 "A" cable
to the "BANK OUT" connector under Console A, and the HDDB15 "B" cable to the "BANK OUT" under Console B
on the slave.
• To add more slave units, refer to the diagram and repeat the process above.
• Upon connecting the daisy-chain cable to the previous unit, it should automatically power up if the previous unit is
powered up. However, it is still recommended that the power supply be used with the slave unit. You will see the
LED display on the front panel show the units bank address setting.
