Frame Physical Interface
• Up to five more dedicated 1000Base-T (or 100Base-T) Ethernet switches for your
Kaleido-IP X320 units equipped with six network adapters to connect to high-
bitrate data streams
• Client PC (see System Requirements for a Client PC , on page 39)

Mechanical Installation
Setting up the Kaleido-IP Hardware
To set up the Kaleido-IP hardware
• Refer to the Supermicro SuperServer User’s Manual (see Related Documentation , on
page 15 ) shipped with your Kaleido-IP unit, mount the unit in a standard 19-inch rack.
Make sure that the unit has adequate ventilation.
Cable type Purpose
CAT-5 For Ethernet connectivity ( Management Network , Media Networks )
Display cables Extension modules:
• for example Grass Valley’s DXF-200 (part number DXF-200-C)
• or standard DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort cables and DisplayPort-to-
DVI adapters, if needed.
