Making waffles
Prepare the waffle mixture.
Use a brush to oil the hotplates (8)
each time before using – not before
each waffle.
Fold the appliance together and place
it so that the temperature regulator (1)
is pointing upwards.
Set the temperature regulator (1) to
the desired level (see section
Regu-
lating the temperature; page 19)
.
NOTE!
We recommend the maximum
►
temperature for experienced cooks.
A lower setting prolongs the baking
time.
Insert the plug into a mains socket.
The red power indicator (3) and the
green temperature indicator lights
(2 and 7) light up and the appliance
begins the heating process. The oper-
ating temperature has been reached
when the green
temperature indicator
lights
extinguish.
NOTE!
When the lid is closed, the maximum
►
temperature is reached in approx.
3 minutes.
Unfold the appliance (see image B1).
Release the locking lever (11) for this
purpose.
Fill the middle of the lower hotplate
with the waffle mixture portion.
Fold the appliance together. Ensure
that the locking lever (11) closes prop-
erly.
NOTE!
If too much waffle mixture is used,
►
it can ooze out of the side of the
appliance. This particularly applies
to mixtures with raising agents. Use
less mixture when filling the next
time.
If you fill the appliance with too little
►
mixture, the waffles will be smaller.
After approximately 15 seconds, turn
the appliance 180° (see image B2) so
that the temperature indicator light on
the underside is showing upwards.
After 3 to 5 minutes, turn the appli-
ance back again and bake the waffles
until they are finished. During baking,
lift the lid (4) briefly to inspect the waf
-
fle.
NOTE!
Depending the consistency of the
►
mixture and the selected tempera-
ture setting, the baking time can be
approx. 4-8 minutes.
The first waffles may stick to the
►
upper hotplate although it was oiled.
This will stop happening after a few
times.
Remove the finished baked waffle.
NOTE!
In order not to damage the coating of
►
the hotplates, only use heat-resistant
cutlery made of plastic or wood to
remove the waffles.
